Look around. Design is everywhere! From your milk carton to a movie poster to the process of ordering an Uber. Merging creativity with strategy, communication with an aesthetic with logic, design is just about everywhere you look and how well you communicate.
Even before graduating from my University in Mexico City, I was always experimenting with typography and collage, cutting parts of magazines doing my own creations trying to communicate ideas and thoughts. When I graduated in 2012, I started taking clients right away and have been ever since. To me, the fact that I can transform a client’s vision and personality into an image is everything. Good communication skills are an essential part of a Graphic Designer. Making “pretty” pictures is nice, but the most important part of the graphic design process happens before you even put pen to paper. Designers must interpret client needs.
Graphic Design to me means solving problems with visuals, creating emotion through a text, turn that text into a shape that complements a beautiful composition. Research, develop concepts and find the balance between aesthetics and function.
